Workshop Descriptions
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS:
OPEN TORCH TIME - FOR EXPERIENCED BEAD MAKERS:
Take some time to warm up at the torch before taking on the “tips and tricks” course.
Bring your own equipment and gas $10. Use Leanne’s equipment and gas $25
Glass rods, frit, stringers & millefiore will be available for purchase. Note: we use Hot Head Torches Only.
INTRODUCTION TO STAINED GLASS:
For those who have never worked with traditional stained glass. We will make an easy to complete panel. You’ll learn the basics of cutting, foiling and soldering and take home a finished project. $100 - registrants will purchase their glass ahead of time at a local shop or online, you'll receive an email telling you what you'll need.
FUSED GLASS PLATE:
Create a 6” Square or a 10” Square plate. Use pieces of colored glass, frit, stringers and glass dots to create your design, all firing done offsite, projects will be ready for pickup in Yardley PA in approximately 2 weeks (shipping can be arranged) 6” = $25/10” = $40.
BEADMAKING TIPS AND TRICKS:
Suitable for those who have taken Intro to Glass Beadmaking with Leanne. This class will be driven by those who sign up; need to see how to make a twistie again; or wondering how to use silver foil? Participants will email their ideas and questions prior to the getaway so Leanne can adjust the course accordingly. Bring your own equipment and gas $40. Use Leanne’s equipment and gas $60. Note: we use Hot Head Torches Only.
OPEN GLASS FUSING:
This is suitable for anyone. Participants will choose their projects from MagicGlassArt.com and email Leanne prior to the retreat. Price based on which projects you choose. All fusing is done offsite. Projects will be ready for pickup in Yardley PA in approximately 2 weeks (shipping can be arranged).
BLOWN GLASS ORNAMENTS:
Open to everyone. Glaskolben glass tubes make it easy for beginners to experience this old world craft. Using the hot head torch students will learn to heat the glass and then blow to create shape. Each student will have the chance to experiment with shapes and colors to create 10 unique ornaments. No prior glass experience is necessary. $60 includes your materials.
INTRODUCTION TO GLASS BEADMAKING – CRASH COURSE:
Open to anyone who wants to try their hand at glass bead making. We will have an opportunity to cover the basic principles of glass bead making, perfect for those who are curious but don’t want to commit to the full 4 week class. $60 includes your materials. Note we use Hot Head Torches Only. PHOTO ON GLASS: Open to Everyone. Bring a 4x6 Photo with you and you’ll design an 8”x8” glass base for your photo. Photos will be fired onto the glass producing a sepia tone picture (browns no color) which is adhered to the glass permanently, workshop time will be spent decorating the glass base (frame). $75 includes your materials.
